Design for the twelfth city, not the first
Roadshows degrade. City one has the senior team, a full rehearsal and fresh kit. City nine has a tired crew, a repaired structure and a local supplier nobody briefed. The design decision that matters is making the build and the operating routine survive repetition, which almost always means simpler than the first render.
- A build that loads in and out inside the shortest access window on the tour.
- Kit specified for transport and wear across a full tour, with spares travelling.
- A written operating routine so every city runs the same day.
- A travelling core team plus local crew, rather than a new team per city.
- Scheduled maintenance days, not emergency repairs.
Local reality in each market
Permits, licensing, power, landlord agreements, union and labour rules, language and audience behaviour all change at the border, and sometimes at the city boundary. We hold local crew, permit knowledge and supplier relationships in the European markets we deliver in, which is what stops a roadshow becoming eight separate agency relationships.
- Permits, licensing and public-space agreements per city.
- Landlord and shopping-centre negotiations for retail stops.
- Local crew, drivers and technical staff in each market.
- Local-language staffing and briefing where the audience needs it.
- Route and freight planning between stops with contingency.
Staffing is what people remember
The structure gets photographed; the staff decide whether anyone engages with it. We recruit, brief and manage the teams ourselves, with a consistent briefing across markets and a team lead in every city responsible for standards and data capture rather than just headcount.
Reporting per stop
Every city reports the same numbers in the same format the day after: interactions, dwell, data captured and opt-in rate, samples or demos completed, content produced and cost per engagement. That makes the mid-tour decisions possible — dropping a weak city, extending a strong one — instead of discovering the pattern afterwards.
