Why brands choose bubble tea
Bubble tea is one of the few activation formats that generates its own queue: the drink is visual, customisable and inherently shareable, and the two-to-three minutes a guest spends waiting is exactly the brand interaction time most activations pay far more to create. The catch is operational — boba has prep times, shelf lives and throughput limits that punish generic event staffing.
- Colour-matched drinks and toppings built around the brand palette.
- Prep and cooking schedules that keep pearls at quality through the peak.
- Throughput planned per hour so the queue moves instead of stalling.
- Vegan, dairy-free and allergen-managed menus with clear labelling.
400 guests, two hours, one week's notice
Wise needed a branded boba and smoothie activation for a company event: 400 guests, a two-hour service window, four drink formats built in the brand's green — and roughly a week from brief to delivery. We hit the window because the format, prep schedule and crew plan were built backwards from 400 drinks in 120 minutes, not from a generic staffing template.
Nine days inside a live Oxford Street launch
For CHERY's launch experience at Future Stores we ran the bubble tea bar for nine consecutive trading days, planned around 1,850 drinks with a 345-drink peak day. That meant daily restocking and reset inside a working retail environment, deliveries and waste coordinated with the store operator, and branded cups and live production that held the same standard on day nine as on day one.
Drop-off formats for offices and controlled venues
Not every brief needs a staffed queue. We also deliver pre-batched boba and smoothie drop-offs for corporate settings — the format we used for Reddit — where the drinks arrive ready, branded and labelled, and the client's own programme keeps the floor.
How a bubble tea campaign is delivered
Bubble tea has operational constraints most drink formats do not: tapioca pearls hold their texture for a limited window, so batch timing against the footfall curve is a quality issue, not just a logistics one. We start with the site survey and utilities plan, lock the menu and pearl preparation schedule, then recruit and train the crew on the brand and the serve. Stock is ordered with contingency, an on-site manager runs the bar on the day, and service numbers are reported back daily in a format you can share internally. For multi-day programmes the same standard is re-briefed each morning — nine consecutive days of trading, as on the CHERY activation, is a different discipline from a single afternoon.
- Pearl preparation batched against the footfall curve so texture never degrades.
- Dairy-free and allergen options planned with clear labelling.
- Crew recruited, trained on the brand and managed on site by our own team.
- Daily service reporting in a privacy-compliant format.
